Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI), Biology, and Socio-economic
Components

Geospatial data and relational data tables representing the environmental sensitivity index (ESI), biology, and socio-economic components of the Louisiana Gulf-Wide Information System (G-WIS). Note that these data are delivered in Geographic coordinates (NAD83). The conversion of the spatial data layers from the original UTM working projection to the Geographic coordinate system resulted in a small decrease in precision, and necessitated small changes in some coverages and relational data tables to maintain topological and data integrity.

activity - data table containing activity/life-history information for biological resources

biores - data table containing species, seasonality, concentration, and source information for biological resources
breed - data table containing life-history information for biological resources
crawfish - spatial data layer containing biological resources for crawfish and river shrimp
freshwater_fish - spatial data layer containing biological resources for freshwater (inland) fish
gator - spatial data layer containing biological resources for alligators
habitats (salinity, brackish marsh, intermediate marsh, salt marsh, fresh marsh, scrub shrub, seagrass, swamp) - spatial data containing coastal habitats
nests - spatial data layer containing biological resources for waterbird colonies
nhp - spatial data layer containing biological resources from the Natural Heritage Program database (rare and endangered species)
